Agreement signed to set up shelter homes in KP Peshawar January 29, 2021 PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakht-unkhwa government on Thursday signed an agreement with Pakistan Baitul Mal for establishing shelter homes (Panagahs) in the province. A ceremony to this effect was held here at Chief Minister Secretariat, with Chief Minister Mahmood Khan as chief guest. Chief Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz and MD Pakistan Baitul Mal Aun Abbas were also present. The agreement was signed by Director Social Welfare Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Deputy Managing Director Pakistan Baitul Mal. As per the agreement, eight shelter homes will be established in the province, out of which two will be established in the provincial capital and one each in all the divisional headquarters.

PBM inks MoU with NOVARTIS Pakistan January 7, 2021 ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) on Thursday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NOVARTIS Pakistan to materialize the digital infrastructure within the organization. In a ceremony held at the PBM Head Office in Islamabad, the Managing Director PBM Aon Abbas Buppi and the Head of Market Access & Regulatory Affairs Ayesha Mushtaq signed the MoU while the Country President and Chief Executive NOVARTIS Imran Rasheed also joined the ceremony via online video calling. Under the corporate social responsibility, NOVARTIS pharma will contribute Rs.10 million to PBM for having hardware equipment. While Addressing the ceremony, the managing director PBM termed this initiative an imperative cost-saving tool to meet the colossal responsibility of poverty reduction ensuring efficiency, transparency, and accessibility.

PM inaugurates 100 bed Panahgah at Tarnol, Islamabad January 01, 2021 Prime Minister Imran Khan today inaugurated a 100 bed Panahgah at Tarnol area of Islamabad and spent first evening of the New Year with the poor and deserving people. This facility has been established in cooperation with Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal and Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Free breakfast and dinner will be provided to the poor people at the Panahgah. A separate 10 beds have been arranged for women at the facility. After the inauguration of Panahgah at Tarnol, the number of such facilities in Islamabad has reached to five. The Prime Minister also visited the TeleHealth Kiosk set up by the EZ Shifa in the shelter home, where he was briefed that the doctors at the facility will provide free medical check-ups to patients under the supervision of more than 500 doctors around the world.

Free shuttle service launched to facilitate dwellers for Panahgahs Peshawar December 21, 2020 ISLAMABAD: With mercury declines in the federal capital, the management of shelter homes has launched a free shuttle service to facilitate daily wage earners for reaching the ‘Panahgahs’, located in the city’s outskirts. “The service has been successfully running for a fortnight and won the trust of poor worker and casual labour for provision of transport from their place of work to their lodging, connecting hotspots of work and ‘’Panahgahs’’ in an effective manner,” Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Shelter Homes Naseem ur Rehman told the media here.
