Bajwa terms textile mill set up under CPEC a role model for SEZs

Daily Times May 27, 2021 Chairman China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority Lt Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa has termed an export-oriented textile factory, established by a Chinese investor in Lahore, as a role model for new special economic zones (SEZs). In a tweet on Wednesday, the chairman CPEC Authority said, “Great visit to Challenge Fashion Lahore. A huge export oriented textile factory put up by a Chinese investor providing 5000 jobs & is all set to expand, promising to create 20,000 jobs.” He was confident that this will boost Pakistan’s industrial output and exports. A day earlier, talking to the media during his visit to the factory, which has been established with a Chinese investment of $150 million, Bajwa said that more economic zones are being established under the CPEC which would bring more Chinese investment in Pakistan and provide all possible facilities to foreign investors. China to reconstruct schools damaged during militancy National April 20, 2021 PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Nong Rong on Monday inaugurated the project of reconstruction of damaged schools in the newly merged tribal areas. In the first phase of the project, a total of 50 schools destroyed during militancy in Bara Tehsil of the tribal Khyber district will be reconstructed. These schools include 24 schools for boys and 26 for girls. The total estimated cost of the reconstruction project is Rs2323 million, out of which Rs 868 million will be provided by the government of Pakistan while 10.29 million US dollars will be provided by China.
