Bumper wheat production expected this year : SAPM

Daily Times May 3, 2021 Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Jamshed Iqbal Cheema has said that bumper wheat production was expected in the country this year. In a statement issued here, he said historical reforms in the agriculture sector being introduced in the country for the first time would bring revolution in the entire agricultural sector. He said issuance of Kisan Cards is one of the remarkable steps taken by the present leadership for prevention of corruption at all levels. SAPM Jamshed Iqbal Cheema said that the past governments ignored the agriculture sector and played with the future of the nation. He said linking agriculture with China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was an important development for this sector. He said with the help of China, there will be a revolution in the agricultural sector. He said the government was focusing on research and modern technology for the uplift of the agriculture sector.

  MANSEHRA, May 1 (Gwadar pro)- China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority chief Lt. General Asim Saleem Bajwa (retd) said on Friday evening that CPEC’s US$ 2 billion worth Suki Kinari Hydro Power Project is expected to become operational by December 2022.   In a tweet, Bajwa said that 60 percent work of the Suki Kinari Hydro Power Project had been completed. Bajwa’s tweet came after he attended the Secondary River Closure ceremony of the 884MW hydropower project.   On Friday, the Suki Kinari (SK) Hydropower Project in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province achieved the second-stage river closure, entering a new phase of its dam construction.   Suki Kinari Hydropower Project is the largest independent hydro power producer in Pakistan, expected to generate 3,081 GWh million units per year, the Chinese embassy in Pakistan said.

CPEC connectivity projects worth billions rupees being carried out in Balochistan--China Economic Net

  ISLAMABAD, Apr. 29 (Gwadar Pro) - China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Chairman Lt General Asim Saleem Bajwa (retd) said on Tuesday afternoon that connectivity projects worth billions of rupees were being carried out in the underdeveloped Balochistan province under CPEC.   Bajwa said the development of roads in South Balochistan was a key priority of the government to improve connectivity of Gwadar with the Northern region.   He said the 146 kilometers Hoshab-Awaran project was an integral part of CPEC Central Alignment which connects Gwadar Port with Sindh.   The project is expected to be completed in three years at an estimated cost of Rs 20 billion. About 60 percent construction of Basima-Khuzdar road has been completed while construction of Hoshab Awaran road had also been started. The Prime Minister s (Imran Khan) vision of uplifting remote areas especially South Balochistan is being realized, Bajwa said in a tweet.
