Islamabad [Pakistan], January 3 (ANI): The persisting gas crisis in Pakistan has intensified, adding to the woes of the citizens as they are forced to turn to more expensive methods to compensate for the gas shortage.
According to Geo News, the gas shortage in Karachi has domestic and industrial consumers, as well as tandoors, teahouses, and hotels worried.
Adding to the crisis, the severe cold weather has also led to a reduction in gas pressure and suspension of gas supply in residential areas, further adding to the plight of the citizens.

Islamabad, Dec 29 : Pakistan President Arif Alvi has backed calls for a national dialogue on electoral reforms, but made it clear that Prime Minister Imran Khan will decide when to hold talks and with whom.
He expressed these views in a meeting with journalists at the President House on Monday, reports Geo News.
The President said the 11-party opposition allliance, Pakistan Democratic Movement s demand of resignation from the government was unjustified and added that the political system was being destabilised for the last two years.

ISLAMABAD, Dec 16 Pakistan’s president yesterday approved a new anti-rape law which will speed up convictions and launch the country’s first national sex offenders registry.
The law, which goes into effect immediately but must be ratified by parliament within three months, was prompted by the gang rape of a mother in front of her children on the side of a motorway in September.
The case caused outrage and led to nationwide protests, with activists demanding the government do more to stop violence against women.
Pakistan President approves new, strict anti-rape law

Pakistan President Arif Alvi has signed the country’s new anti-rape ordinance into law which hopes to fastrack sexual assault related offences against women and children.
The ordinance was first put forth by Prime Minister Imran Khan and was passed by the Federal Cabinet on Nov 24 after public outrage following the gang-rape of a woman outside the city of Lahore.
The law will go into effect immediately. However, The Parliament will be given three months to ratify the law.
What the law means
Special courts will be set up which must reach a verdict in four months since the beginning of the trial. It will also establish special anti-rape cells across the country to conduct initial investigations and medical examination within six hours after a police complaint is filed.
