NAB rejects remarks of SAPM Tabish Gohar

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau on Wednesday rejected the remarks of Special Assistant for Energy and Petroleum Tabish Gohar delivered during a speech in the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) by terming it baseless, fabricated and contrary to the facts.
The NAB, while brushing aside the remarks, said that the Special Assistant for Energy and Petroleum had tried to create a negative image of NAB in the business community besides attempting to influence the sub judice LNG reference and allegedly benefit the accused involved in the reference.
The NAB in its official announcement said that the NAB had decided to officially seek the copy of the statement of Tabish Gohar delivered in FPCCI, Karachi, from PEMRA (Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority) and analyse it in the light of Clause 31 (a) of the NAB ordinance, afterwards the law will take its course.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday vehemently rejected the remarks attributed to Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Power Tabish Gauhar, terming the allegations contrary to the facts, fabricated and baseless. A NAB spokesman said in a statement that the bureau has asked PEMRA (Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority) to submit a transcript of the speech of SAPM delivered in Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Karachi last day to NAB. SC seeks PPP activist’s reply over his derogatory speech against CJP

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Monday directed Masoodur Rehman, an activist of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), to submit his reply by July 2 over his derogatory speech against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed. A four-member apex court larger bench, headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial, heard the contempt of court proceedings against the PPP activist. Last week, the court had issued a show-cause notice to Masoodur Rehman over his alleged derogatory speech against the CJP.
The court had directed that the Inspector General of Police should ensure production of the alleged contemnor and adjourned the hearing till June 28. The Sindh police Monday produced before the court Masoorur Rehman, who confessed to his speech against the CJP.

The SHC s order makes it the third time that the video-sharing platform has been banned in Pakistan. The SHC s ruling came during a hearing, where the court issued a notice to the attorney general of Pakistan and directed him to follow the orders and get the app banned.
Presenting his arguments in the court, the petitioner s lawyer said Peshawar High Court had earlier banned TikTok as some videos uploaded on the platform are immoral and against the teachings of Islam.
