ISLAMABAD: The leadership of the major opposition party, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), is in complete harmony in dealing with the changing political situation in the country.
PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif is also being taken into confidence by the party leadership and his approval is also sought for the steps to be taken, despite his being in prison currently. His son and leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Hamza Shahbaz, is also kept posted all information about the political developments.
Well-placed sources told The News on Thursday that when Shahbaz Sharif, who is also the opposition leader in the National Assembly, was visited by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Kot Lakhpat jail Lahore early this week, he was pleasantly surprised to find out that the imprisoned leader was fully aware of the events taking place in the country.

PM Modi recalled his interaction with Sharif s mother in 2015 and said that Begum Shamim Akhtar s simplicity and warmth were indeed very touching .
In the letter dated November 27, which was released by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Sharif over his mother s death on November 22.

LAHORE: An accountability court Thursday adjourned the hearing in Ramzan Sugar Mills case against Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif and his sons Hamza Shahbaz and Suleman Shahbaz till January 7.
The court has summoned more prosecution witnesses after counsel of Hamza Shahbaz cross-examined a prosecution witness. The jail authorities produced Hamza before the court. Shahbaz did not appear as he had been granted permanent exemption from personal appearance in the case.
In August, the court had framed charges against Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz in the case. In the reference, NAB blamed Hamza, the chief executive officer of the Ramzan Sugar Mills, for getting constructed a drain for his mill with the public money in Chinniot. The then chief minister, Shahbaz Sharif, allegedly approved Rs210 million for the drain construction.
