Smart lockdown imposed in 4 localities of Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi : Deputy Commissioner (DC), Rawalpindi Captain (r) Anwar-ul-Haq has issued notification of ‘smart lockdown’ at four hotspots areas of coronavirus on Saturday. The areas included Sadiqabad, street 4; Allama Iqbal Colony, street 27; Azizabad CB 1231, Near Qasar-e-Abu Talib and Dhok Paracha.
The DC (Rawalpindi) Captain (r) Anwar-ul-Haq told ‘The News’ that the smart lockdown will continue till March 28. He also said that all markets and shops will be closed down at 6:00 pm from Monday. “Last time, we got good response of ‘smart lockdown’ and coronavirus cases came down in the areas where smart lockdown was imposed,” he said.
Pindiites express solidarity with Kashmiris

Rawalpindi : Different political parties, traders, civil society members, government officers, private organisations, students and Anjuman-e-Shehriyan-e-Rawalpindi staged rallies to express solidarity with Kashmiri people and strongly condemned Indian brutalities on them.
A large number of people participated in the rallies and raised slogans in support of the people of Kashmir here on Friday.
Several government and private organisations including Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) also arranged programmes in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day.
Speakers on the occasion strongly condemned India for the bloodshed in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and vowed to support Kashmiris in their cause.
Public rejects second hike in POL prices this month

Rawalpindi : The hike in rates of petroleum products, the second time in a month has started taking its toll on the lives of the common man who has to bear its brunt in the shape of rising prices of kitchen items and transportation.
The monthly budget of the people has been dented heavily thanks to the hike in prices of POL products on 1st of this month by Rs2.31/litre and on 15th by Rs3.2/litre which took the price of petrol from Rs104 per litre (December 31, 2020) to Rs109 per litre (January 15, 2021) within 15 days.
