ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz Tuesday said the federal cabinet had approved constitution of a commission of inquiry on the Broadsheet issue, under the chairmanship of Justice (retd) Azmat Saeed, to bring the truth before the nation.
Briefing the media about the federal cabinet decisions and replying to their questions, he said the commission was set up under the Commission of Inquiry Act 2017, instead of a committee, to investigate the Broadsheet case. The minister said that besides the Broadsheet issue, Hudaibiya Sugar Mills scam and Surrey Palace of the PPP leaders would also be investigated in future.

LDA governing body approved construction of 4,000 residential units in first phase

After a preliminary survey and environmental impact assessment, Punjab Environment Protection Department has declared Haloki area suitable for construction of Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme (NPHS) apartments.
Lahore Development Authority (LDA) had sought opinion from the provincial environment department, as required by the law, for construction of LDA City Naya Pakistan Housing Residential Apartments. The authority wants to construct 4,000 residential apartments under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s flagship housing scheme.
The LDA governing body recently approved construction of 4,000 residential units with an estimated cost of Rs10 billion in Haloki in the first phase.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Thursday launched the online system for issuance of letters of administration and succession certificates within 15 days, saying the step will greatly facilitate local citizens and overseas Pakistanis. Addressing the launch ceremony here, he said the main objective of digitalization of inheritance system was to facilitate the general public and to provide them with justice without delay. The letters of administration and succession certificates, which earlier took around two to seven years to issue, will now take two weeks. Imran said the government considered legal reforms crucial in ensuring justice through peoplefriendly legislation. He regretted that delay in matters relating to inheritance of property caused utmost grievances to the heirs, particularly the families dispersed abroad. ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said the government was committed to utilising all available resources to improve the justice system in the country to provide relief and justice to people.
The prime minister also called for stern action against corrupt element by strengthening reward and punishment system.
The prime minister issued directives for removal of bottlenecks in the much ambitious Ravi Urban Development Project and asked for addressing problems in shifting Walton Airport, Lahore.
To provide relief to the common man, Mr Khan emphasised the need for implementation of administrative reforms within the prescribed period.
