New Delhi: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur on Friday (May 28) expressed concern over reports of threats to Sikhs in Pakistan and said that the government of Pakistan should ensure the safety of minority Sikhs in the country.
In a statement issued by the SGPC, Bibi Jagir Kaur said that since Thursday it is being reported that Sikhs in Pakistan are receiving threats from the Taliban.
“This is a matter of serious concern, which the government of Pakistan needs to take seriously. The security of the Sikh community in Pakistan is the responsibility of the government and it should take strict action against threats. The government should assure the Sikhs that they are safe inside Pakistan,” said Kaur.

An audio message alerting the Sikhs has surfaced
New Delhi: Sikhs in Pakistan are panicky after they were told to furnish details of their residence, contact number and other information to the local police in order to make security arrangements for them.
Zee Media accessed an audio message which reveals that the Sikhs of Lahore and Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Sikh’s first master Guru Nanak Dev were asked to submit their credentials with Pakistan’s Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).
Confirming the same, Ranjit Singh, Granthi of Gurdwara Guru Ramdas Ji, Chuna Mani, Lahore sent out a voice message alerting the Sikhs to remain vigilant and not stay out of their homes late at night.
ETPB launches scholarship for Sikh and Hindu youths

AMRITSAR: Pakistan’s Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has begun the ‘Baba Guru Nanak Scholarship’ to provide vocational training to Hindu and Sikh youths to help them become independent after ETPB signed a MoU with Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) the other day.
While talking to TOI after signing the MoU, ETPB chairman Aamer Ahamd said PVTC will train 10 Sikh and Hindu youth in the districts of Nankana Sahib and Rahim Yar Khan and the training would be provided in the existing vocational training institutes of PVTC”. He said while the PVTC would be responsible for providing vocational training to Sikh and Hindu youth on the other hand ETPB would bear the fee and stipend which turns around to be around Pakistani Rs 16 lakh for the 20 candidates.
