ADAMS â The glorious sounds of live music will once again echo throughout this village this summer after a yearâs pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Adams Revitalization Committee will host its sixth Community Concert Series featuring free concerts on six consecutive Wednesday nights, beginning July 14 and continuing through Aug. 18.
Each performance is at the firefighters pavilion behind the Adams Fire Hall. Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. and conclude around 8 p.m.
Patrons are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. In the event of stormy weather, concerts will be held at the Six Town Meeting Hall on East Church Street, Adams.

The crowd at the Juneteenth celebration of African American freedom sings “We are Family.”
POTSDAM – More than 500 people attended the second annual Juneteenth Celebration hosted by Black Lives Matter Potsdam NY and the Potsdam Juneteenth Organizing Committee on June 19 at Ives Park.
Attendees enjoyed a day of engaging culture discussions regarding Black history. Black culture, a Black Beauty Fashion Show featuring 21 children and adults modeling traditional African clothing. A special guest appearance by Reggae and R&B recording artist D Major was a surprise feature facilitated by the Adirondack Diversity Initiative, delighting the energetic crowd.
Three local civil rights leaders and a young civil rights activist were honored for their work to improve racial equality in St. Lawrence County during the cultural event.

May 07, 2021 For about a month, students at SUNY Potsdam have been demanding the university improve the way complaints of sexual assault and harassment are handled.
The reckoning began when a student at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music accused a professor of sexual misconduct on social media. The student also criticized how the university handled her complaints. Soon, other students shared their own experiences of sexual harassment and assault.
