POTSDAM – Potsdam Central School is training its medical staff to conduct rapid COVID testing on students and staff if the region is designated a micro-cluster zone.
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo recently released guidelines for schools in designated yellow, orange and red micro-cluster zones to help keep schools open for in-person learning.
“The guidelines require schools to complete a certain percentage of COVID-19 tests among in-person staff and students, with a continuation of vigilant symptom and exposure screening conducted daily,” according to Potsdam Central Superintendent Joann Chambers. For a yellow zone, the state has said schools must test 20% of students and staff.
