There is no longer a statewide requirement to wear face coverings in most settings. However, other federal, state, or local laws may require face coverings in some settings, and businesses may set their own requirements. Additionally, Minnesota's Safe Learning Plan, along with the existing face covering guidance for schools and child care settings, remain in effect through the end of the 2020-2021 school year. Despite the easing of mask mandates from federal agencies, state government and municipal leaders, Essentia Health, Tri-County Health and area school districts will continue to enforce their mask policies.
Universal masking for Essentia Health patients, visitors and staff will remain a requirement in all facilities across Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota.

(KNSI) – Some area high school students will get to go to prom Saturday, but it will look a bit different in light of COVID-19. At Apollo High School, around 140 juniors and seniors will head to the school’s gym for Grand March at 7:30 p.m. Then, the “Enchanted Forest” prom dance will take place in the library starting at 8:30.
Members of the Apollo Student Union spent Thursday evening and most of the day Friday setting up decorations. Apollo senior class president Calvin Walters says prom is usually held at the River’s Edge Convention Center.

(KNSI) – Minnesota will end its statewide mask requirement on Friday.
Governor Tim Walz announced on Thursday evening following new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance on face coverings.
“This great day is possible because vaccines have proven to be effective,” said Governor Walz. “Once you are fully vaccinated you are protected. You can confidently return to the people you love and things that you miss – all without a mask. The message is clear – get vaccinated and let’s put the pandemic behind us once and for all.”
Executive Order 21-23 will be effective immediately upon approval by the Minnesota Executive Council, scheduled to meet Friday.
