Facing growth and high demand, Wolfforth eyeing other water sources

The City of Wolfforth has made recent improvements to the quality of its water, but not quantity. New development plans at the city located just outside of Lubbock will double the number of residential homes in the next 10 years. Unless something changes, Wolfforth will continue getting all of its water by pumping it from the ground. Wolfforth currently has 17 water wells pumping water to the city s new water treatment facility, and the city is quickly growing. Betenbough Homes recently broke ground on a new subdivision, where the plans are to build 2,500 homes in the next 10 years. The additional homes will double the number of households in Wolfforth.
