ISLAMABAD: A judicial inquiry into the killing of Osama Satti conducted by the additional deputy commissioner Islamabad has recommended that officials of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) should never jointly work with the regular force without permission from the superintendent of police (SP).
Chief Commissioner Islamabad Aamir Ahmed Ali had ordered the judicial inquiry to establish facts and fix responsibility over the incident in which the Crisis Response Team (CRT) of the ATS gunned down the 21-year-old on Srinagar Highway early on Jan 2.

IPS officer Hemanth M. Nimbalkar, in the thick of a controversy surrounding the Safe City Project, was transferred yet again on Monday barely days after his earlier transfer on New Year’s Eve.
The State government had earlier transferred Mr. Nimbalkar from the post of Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration), Bengaluru, as Inspector General of Police, Internal Security Division, Bengaluru. This followed a public spat between him and IPS officer D. Roopa over the project.

Police officers told
Dawn that earlier it was suspected that he was murdered during a robbery attempt, however, examination of the crime scene and evaluation of circumstances suggested that the motive was either enmity or personal issue.
The victim Noel Mathias Do Rego was shot dead near his residence in G-10/4 on Tuesday by two persons. Born in Portugal and an IT expert by profession, he had migrated to Germany and had gotten married to a Pakistani 12 years ago.
