Measures in place to ensure well-being of Team Singapore at Tokyo 2020 Olympics: Edwin Tong
A total of 23 Team Singapore athletes competing across 12 sports will be at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics and arrangements are being made to ensure their well-being and safety, said Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth & Second Minister for Law on Monday (5 July).
Mr Tong was responding to a question from Workers’ Party (WP) MP Sylvia Lim on the progress of preparations for Singapore’s participation in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

11 Singapore employers fined for not making WFH a default, following 530 workplace inspections Details Published: 25 May 2021
The Ministry of Manpower has stressed it will be increasing its workplace inspections to ensure employers comply, and those who are allowed to perform their roles from home are doing so.
Singapore s Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has fined 11 employers for breaching the current Safe Management Measures (SMM). These employers, the Ministry said, had failed to ensure work-from-home (WFH) as a default arrangement for employees who are able to do so.
These fines come following a round of inspections by the Ministry from 8 May to 21 May 2021, involving more than 530 workplaces.
