A lack of gender diversity in Zip Coâs workforce has created an operating risk â delays in responding to shifting demands from its typical user, a young, female shopper â says the buy now, pay later providerâs new chairman, Diane Smith-Gander.
Ms Smith-Gander also expects regulators to maintain scrutiny of the fast-growing sector, which will require Zipâs governance standards to âflexâ alongside its surging customers and sales volumes. The board will also have to pay close attention to its global expansion to ensure the ambitious plans are executed safely.
Sexy uniforms, swearing and eye-rolling should be stamped out to stop sexual harassment and violence on the job, under new workplace rules released on Monday. The taxpayer-funded Safe Work Australia has urged workers to wear badges such as I m a son or I m a mother , to help calm angry and upset customers. The purpose of certification systems of any sort is to communicate integrity between distant producers and consumers. At their best, they provide an assurance meaningful enough to sway a purchase toward a certified producer thereby creating a flywheel effect of better behaviour, better products and increased uptake by producers and consumers alike.
Given that the purpose a certification system and an associated “trustmark” is to communicate integrity, it is the minimum expectation that the the system of assessment used, the people who develop and administer the system, the system of certification and the certifiers employed all need to be transparent, fair and free from any appearance of conflicted interests.
