Iran warns of response if security threatened after ship attack -TV

DUBAI (Reuters) -Iran will respond promptly to any threat against its security, the foreign ministry said on Monday, after the United States, Israel and Britain blamed Tehran for an attack on an Israeli-managed tanker off the coast of Oman.
Tehran has denied any involvement in the suspected drone attack on Thursday in which two crew members - a Briton and a Romanian - were killed.
The United States and Britain said on Sunday they would work with their allies to respond to the attack on the Mercer Street, a Liberian-flagged, Japanese-owned petroleum product tanker managed by Israeli-owned Zodiac Maritime.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Monday derided the previous government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, after his cabinet voted to approve a national budget for the first time in three years.
“We’ve done in 36 hours what you didn’t do in 36 months, we passed a budget,” Bennett said during a heated Knesset plenary session, addressing the opposition.
“You would have preferred that we head to seventh elections, eighth elections,” he said, referring to Israel’s protracted political crisis that saw four rounds of elections from April 2019 until his government was formed in June.

Israel slammed the European Union’s decision to send a representative to incoming Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi s swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday, saying it is “puzzling and a demonstration of poor judgment.”
“The participation of the EU representative in the ceremony comes just a few days after Iran killed two civilians, one of whom was from an EU member State, in an act of state terrorism against civilian shipping,” Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lior Haiat stated Monday evening.
