Sky News can reveal Prime Minister Scott Morrison was thwarted by the National Party in his last cabinet reshuffle where he attempted to give a portfolio called National Resilience to former Defence Minister Linda Reynolds.
Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell said the Nationals “resisted when Morrison attempted to strip National Resilience out of the portfolio held by Deputy Nationals leader David Littleproud, who was and remains the Minister for Drought and Emergency Management”.
“As we reported here on Sunday Agenda just before the March reshuffle, Scott Morrison s original plan was to create this new portfolio for Reynolds to deal with the recovery after various disasters,” Mr Clennell said.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has pledged to accept all 55 recommendations detailed in the report, yesterday announcing that he will reform laws and regulations around sexual assault.
Ms Jenkins released the report over a year ago â a landmark national inquiry into sexual harassment in workplaces by the Australian Human Rights Commission â and has said she is happy with the positive response.

Boeing awarded contract modification to build two more P-8A aircraft for RAAF and nine for USN

Boeing has secured a USD1.63 billion contract modification to manufacture 11 P-8A maritime multimission aircraft: nine for the US Navy (USN) and two for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).
The Pentagon announced on 31 March that work on the ‘Lot 12’ production aircraft is to be completed by September 2024.
The contract award comes after the Australian Department of Defence (DoD) announced on 30 December 2020 that the country had exercised the option to acquire two more P-8A to add to the 12 already in RAAF service.
