Sky News host Peta Credlin says it is clear the government is “hurting and so is the PM,” regardless of the outcome for Linda Reynolds and Christian Porter.
Defence Minister Linda Reynolds has reportedly called former staffer Brittany Higgins a “lying cow” in front of her staff in mid-February.
Ms Credlin said the defence minister is “in trouble” not just for the reported comments, but also for “poor judgement in a portfolio that requires nerves of steel”.
Meanwhile Attorney General Christian Porter has vehemently denied allegations he was involved in historical rape dating back to 1988, labelling the claims as the “most wild, intense and unrestrained” in modern Australian politics, one day after NSW Police ended its investigation.
Ms Credlin said whether both Mr Porter and Ms Reynolds survive depends on the prime minister’s “judgement of the relative damage done by keeping them or losing them”.
