Just like an Indian mother would pack home-cooked meals for her child before he/she leaves home, the Indian astronauts will be all set with Meals-Ready-to-Eat (MRE) items like mango pickles, veg biryani, chicken korma and moong dal halwa, all thanks to Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL). Prakash Reddy observed that the processing units should have capacity to store tomatoes even for 30-40 days so that they could be exported to Middle East countries.
