General Bipin Rawat visits Karwar Naval Base Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat visited the Naval Base in Karwar on Monday and reviewed the progress of ongoing works under Project Seabird. General Rawat, who was accompanied by Vice-Admiral R. Hari Kumar, FOC-in-C (West), was received by Real Admiral Mahesh Singh, Flag Officer Commanding Karnataka Naval Area (FOK), on arrival, a release said. General Rawat was briefed on the progress of activities pertaining to Project Seabird in Site A, including the modemisation of Naval Ship Repair Yard (Karwar), as also the capabilities of Maritime Operations Centre (MOC), Kar and COMNETCEN (Kar).

CDS launches tri-services logistics node in Mumbai ANI | Updated: Apr 01, 2021 15:06 IST New Delhi [India], April 1 (ANI): Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat on Thursday launched the Joint Logistics Node at the Western Naval Command in Mumbai which will cater for the requirements of all three services deployed in that region. The nodes are part of the steps towards integrating the three Services. It will provide logistical support to all three defence services and improve utilisation of resources, manpower and remove duplication. The first JLN consisting of the three services was set up at the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in 2018.

CDS Rawat launches joint logistics facility in Mumbai Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat e-releasing Standing Operating Procedure of Joint Logistics Node (JLN) in Mumbai, through video conferencing from New Delhi, on April 01, 2021. As part of measures to boost tri-service integration and resource optimisation, Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat on Thursday operationalised the third joint logistics node (JLN) in Mumbai. “These JLNs will provide integrated logistics cover to the armed forces for their small arms ammunition, rations, fuel, general stores, civil hired transport, aviation clothing, spares and also engineering support in an effort to synergise their operational efforts,” a Defence Ministry statement said.
