NATO Defence Education Enhancement Programme develops a strategy in support of professional military education

NATO Responding to the challenges of the pandemic, many NATO Allies and partners participated in a virtual meeting of the ‘COVID-19 Defence Education Distance Learning Best Practices and Lessons Learned – Strategy Development Conference’ from 12-14 April 2021. Organised by NATO’s Defence Education Enhancement Programme (DEEP) and the War Studies University in Warsaw, the conference suports the adaptation and development of professional military education with online platforms. A total of 241 participants from 136 different defence education institutions shared lessons learned since the start of the pandemic, and discussed the best ways to adapt education from residential learning to distance learning. They also exchanged views about the training and technology required to make distance-learning courses more effective.

REUTERS NATO s Defence Education Enhancement Programme (DEEP) eAcademy recently offered students of the National Defense University of Ukraine a pioneering two-week program focused on international security. The online course was shaped by NATO s Counter-Terrorism Reference Curriculum (CTRC), which provides an overview of terrorist ideologies, motivations and methods, as well as contemporary counter-terrorism practices, NATO press service reports. The course is set to help participants develop the knowledge and skills needed to understand terrorism and counterterrorism in order to successfully anticipate and mitigate potential threats. Chief of the NATO MLO: The public does not see how much NATO and Serbia work together

Izvor: Prtscr/You Tube Brigadier General Tommaso Vitale, Chief of the NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade, said in an exclusive interview with the Strategic Policy Council portal, cfsp.rs, that the public does not see how much NATO and Serbia have been working together for almost 15 years, that is, since signing of the Partnership for Peace. Vitale recalled that his first operational mission was to participate in KFOR, during which, he says, he “saw the suffering and difficulties faced by the local population, but at the same time exceptional dignity”. “We must never forget the past, but we can overcome it and that is what NATO and Serbia are doing with this partnership, we are looking towards a better future”, said the general.
