Initiative taps the services of veteran defence medical professionals to provide online consultation to patients
After its successful roll-out in three states, Ex-Defence OPD, now renamed the Defence National OPD, was rolled out pan-India on Friday and is available on the e-Sanjeevani platform.
Availability of veteran defence medical professionals on the government s platform has provided additional impetus to the Stay Home OPD, a Ministry of Defence statement said. Their vast experience and expertise is being optimally utilised by patients across the country. This initiative will go a long way in obtaining necessary medical advice and consultation in the safe environment of patients homes, avoiding unnecessary visits to hospitals and increasing the risk of getting infected with Covid-19 and overburdening limited health resources, it said.

New York, May 7 : US defence officials have emphasised the strategic partnership with India in helping it in the time of the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. The US Defence Department will continue to stand by India in its moment of need and support US assistance efforts in the days and weeks ahead, Under Secretary of Defence for Policy Colin Kahl told India s Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar on Thursday, according to Pentagon s Deputy Spokesperson Jamal Brown.
Kahl and Kumar during their phone conversation highlighted the enduring strength of the US-India strategic partnership, noting that the bonds between the two nations have only deepened in times of crisis .

Kerala based pride of labour co-op movement, ULCCS has been entrusted with the job of shifting an entire Oxygen Plant from a factory to the hospital site. ULCCS is busy translocating an Oxygen generating plant at PK Steel Complex to nearby Kozhikode Medical College.
