A witness in the murder investigation of the Anti-Gang Unit s Charl Kinnear compiled reports for the police to show the senior detective was being tracked.
The Bellville Regional Court heard that Bradley Goldblatt, whose house was raked with bullets in a drive-by shooting, also gave police updates on this before Kinnear was murdered.
Kilian s lawyer maintains that the evidence against the debt collector and former rugby player is circumstantial and that the real killer has not been caught.
A witness in the investigation into the murder of the Anti-Gang Unit s Charl Kinnear warned the police several times that he had found out that his client Zane Kilian was allegedly using ping bundles to track the location of the senior detective before he was killed, the Bellville Regional Court heard on Thursday.
Multimillion rand project to protect Prasa infrastructure launched

Cape Town - In a bid to protect the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa s (Prasa) infrastructure, the entity has trained at least 270 volunteers in the Western Cape to join its newly launched programme, the People’s Responsibility to Protect Project (PR2P).
The more than R100 million project was launched by the Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula, the Prasa board, the police, civil and community organisations at the Langa train station yesterday.
The project was expected to be implemented in five phases: the launch and public engagement; volunteer training; deployment and integration; project monitoring and evaluation; and report writing.

The State alleged during his bail application that not only was Kinnear and lawyer William Booth tracked, but their wives and security company players were also targeted for either pinging or having their personal details trawled.
Kilian claims he only worked for a mystery Mr X who needed to know when the police were coming to his house.

The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) has published a draft policy document for public comment, aimed at further formalising qualifications for security guards in South Africa.
Currently, security training and assessment is conducted by security training providers at PSIRA-accredited training provider sites.
However, due to the changing environment within the security sector, and the move to a digitalized society, there is a need to create easier and more convenient ways of assessing prospective and current security officers in line with developing trends, the regulator said.
