Disgraceful act
Our Florida governor should be ashamed of himself for ordering the U.S. flag to be flown at half-staff to honor Rush Limbaugh.
Under the U.S. Flag Code, the governor does not have the authority to issue such an order placing the flag at half staff to honor a private citizen who was not an incumbent or former government official and not an American service member from Florida killed while on active duty. This governor apparently thinks he is above the law of our land regarding our national flag, and can order employees of the state and other officials in Florida to violate that code.
FLORIDA â Sandy Gibsonâs parents died a year apart when he was a boy, and he has spent his entire life visiting their gravesite in his native Toronto. But, Gibsonâs parents were buried in a traditional cemetery, and he said the austere surroundings have made it difficult for him to connect with his memories of them.
âFor me, itâs always been a place that you need to go,â he said. âBut, it wasnât how I wanted to feel when I was near my parents. . Itâs so hard to forget that, because it is their final resting place. Itâs there forever.â

A boost in visitors to Grey Sauble Conservation Authority lands has prompted them to add to their user fees.
A release from the Conservation Authority (GSCA) says, “The summer of 2020 showcased a renewed interest in the outdoors for many Ontarians who visited parks and conservation areas in record numbers.”
They say they anticipate it will continue in 2021 and note the rise in visitation, “Highlights the importance of having access to nature for physical and mental well-being, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, but also necessitates the need for increased operations at many GSCA properties.”
After reviewing parking rates at surrounding municipalities, other conservation authorities, and national and provincial parks, the single park, single day parking pass has increased from $6 ($8 on weekends at Inglis Falls Conservation Area) to $10.

Trump Administration Flouts Law to Push Utah Highway Through Protected Conservation Lands
ST. GEORGE,
Utah The Trump administration issued a decision today to allow construction of the Northern Corridor Highway, a controversial four-lane highway through the protected Red Cliffs National Conservation Area in southwest Utah.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service also issued a “take” permit today allowing destruction of Mojave desert tortoises in the path of the highway project and reducing protections elsewhere. Desert tortoises are protected as threatened under the Endangered Species Act.
