Deeply saddened to learn about human loss & destruction caused by cyclone Tauktae which struck west coast of India. Admire heroic work of rescue forces. I d like to convey words of sincere sympathy and support to families of deceased and wish speedy recovery to injured, said Russian envoy Kudashev.
Cyclone Tauktae caused severe damage to property and lives, the Indian Navy continues its search and rescue operations, providing relief to the affected people.

New Delhi [India], May 19 (ANI): One hundred and eighty four personnel have been rescued so far from the barge P305 which sank after Cyclone Tauktae hit the Arabian Sea off the coast of Mumbai on Monday, the Defence Public Relations Officer (PRO) said on Wednesday.
The Defence PRO informed that INS Kochi and INS Kolkata were returning to Mumbai harbour with rescuees and added that INS Teg, INS Betwa, INS Beas P8I aircraft and Seaking Helos are continuing with the Search and Rescue Operations. The 196 personnel on SS-3 and 101 personnel on Sagar Bhushan are safe. Offshore Supply Vessels hired by ONGC and SCI towing then to safety. INS Talwar also in area, the Defence PRO further said.

New Delhi [India], May 18 (ANI): At least 146 personnel have been rescued so far from the barge P305 which sunk after Cyclone Tauktae hit the Arabian Sea off the coast of Mumbai on Monday, the Defence Public Relations Officer (PRO) said on Tuesday.
It also said that the aerial search commenced at first light with Indian Navy P8I on task.
Several of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) s major production installations and drilling rigs are located in the area that felt the brunt of the cyclone.
As per an official statement of ONGC, INS Kochi and INS Kolkata - two ships of the Indian Navy and one Tug Boat of Afcons, one OSV (Offshore Supply vessel) of ONGC, Coast Guard vessel ICG Samarth have been pressed into service for the rescue service of Barge Papaa-305 that started drifting after its anchors gave way.
