ISP announces Starved Rock State Park informational campaign ISP District 17 LaSalle, IL – The Illinois State Police (ISP), in partnership with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), announce an informational and enforcement campaign focused on Starved Rock State Park and Matthiessen State Park parking issues. Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Parks, situated between Utica, Oglesby, and La Salle, receive approximately 2 million visitors annually. The large volume of visitors has resulted in vehicles being parked in “No Parking Tow-Away” zones located along IL Rt. 178 and IL Rt. 71, adjacent to the parks. The problem is so pervasive it has become a safety issue to pedestrians and motorists. The illegal parking has also made it difficult for first responders to access the area in emergency situations. New Jersey Conservation Police Officers Bust Striper Poachers April 16, 2021 As anglers take advantage of the ongoing striped bass run, New Jersey’s Conservation Police Officers have been busy enforcing the size and creel limits for this popular game fish. Calls to the 877-WARN-DEP line concerning violations have directed the officers’ attention to individuals whose illegal activities did not go unnoticed by law-abiding sportsmen and women. The officers have also been checking in on past trouble spots. Between April 8 and April 11, Conservation Police Officer Robert Driscoll and Lieutenant Joseph Kuechler, with the assistance of Deputy Chief Frank Panico, continued their enforcement efforts of the striped bass regulations along the Hudson River and Newark Bay Complex in Hudson and Union Counties. They issued a total of 67 summonses for violations of undersize and over the limit striped bass with potential fines amounting to over $15,000.

State Parks, Forests, Campgrounds Open Today With Eased COVID Restrictions © Provided by NBC Connecticut State parks, forests, and campgrounds will be open for the season, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Katie Dykes said Friday morning. Lower capacity limits that were in place will be relaxed for state parks this season, Dykes said. Capacity will instead be determined by available parking. She said the state will be expanding what s open for the public and restore many services that were curtailed last year, with safety protocols in place to promote social distancing and to prevent the spread of COVID-19. All state parks, forests and campgrounds, rustic cabins, youth group camping, river camping, backpack camping sites will be open beginning April 10, on a basis that will require reservations. The reservation system is open now.
