Siphiwe Lucky Sangweni.
Siphiwe Lucky Sangweni was born on 27 February 1967 in KwaMashu township, Durban, in the KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa. After he completed his secondary schooling at Igugulabasha High School in Ntuzuma, north of Durban, he went to join the underground revolutionary structures of Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK), and subsequently went to exile and underwent military training in Tanzania where he became an all-rounded trained and qualified officer through formal military training by the Tanzania Peoples Defence Force (TPDF).
On his return to South Africa in 1994, Sangweni integrated to the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) where he was appointed a Platoon Commander in the Republic of South Africa National Peace Keeping Force (NPKF), a position he held for a period of six months until the disbandment of the NPKF.

The UK defence sector is set to receive a seismic boost in funding, the largest investment in 30 years, increasing the defence budget by £16.5bn over the next four years, as announced today by the Prime Minister.

The UK defence sector is set to receive a seismic boost in funding, the largest investment in 30 years, increasing the defence budget by £16.5bn over the next four years, as announced today by the Prime Minister. Capabilities across the entire sector are poised to benefit from the financial backing, with the modernisation of the armed forces taking a particular focus. Driving this boost in funding was the expectation that without additional support, the armed forces were on the path to a state of decrepitude that would be difficult to reverse.

Distribution commenced last week Friday 9th April with Betikama Adventist College (BAC) and St. Joseph Tenaru boarding schools got their first share of the cake.
British High Commission in Honiara on 18th January 2021 donated the seeds and tools to MAL and the ministry (MAL) as the implementer distribute the items to identified farming groups, education institutions and community groups in the country under its Livelihood Sector – Food Security Programme in response to the impact of Covid-19.
