Pak Army has always desired that judiciary toe its line

Islamabad [Pakistan], July 25 (ANI): Pakistan Army has held power over the state and it has always tried that the judiciary too should toe its line.
Bilal Balouch, writing in Eat News, a Taiwanese digital media portal said that in order to dilute the chastity of the judiciary, the Pakistan Army is known to position its own men by influencing the appointment of judges to various higher courts.
The judges who conform to the Army s thought process keep politicians on a tight leash through their judgements with scathing remarks on the Government s performance thus indirectly enabling the Army to have a stronghold over the political affairs of the country.

SHC issues notices on plea against encroachment

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has issued notices to the Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC), Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and others on a petition seeking removal of all encroachments from the Gizri creek and the plain, and restore all natural outfalls into the sea so that storm water could flow out to the sea without any obstruction.
The petitioners, Ahmad Shabbar and others, residents of Defence, submitted in the petition that the DHA had encroached upon the Gizri creek estuary and the land around the Mehmoodabad drain which was the permanent cause of flooding in the area threatening life and property of its residents during the monsoon season.

RAWALPINDI: With just a few days left until Eidul Azha, prices of sacrificial animals have increased sharply.
Traders as well as buyers at cattle sale points have expressed concern over high cost of the animal as well as transportation charges. Cattle traders usually come to Rawalpindi from other parts of the district like Fatahjang, Talagang, Attock, Taxila and Gujar Khan.
One of the buyers, a resident of Defence Housing Authority, had gone to buy goats from Bhatta Chowk. He said he was taken aback upon observing high prices of animals and complaints by traders of charges they had been paying to contractors.
