LAHORE:Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has sought a report from the primary and secondary healthcare department as to why less number of vaccines was administered on Monday. She directed the department to provide details about the jabs in each district that day.
The minister was presiding over a meeting to review the corona pandemic situation, pace of vaccination and medical facilities in hospitals, at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday. Speaking at the meeting, Dr Yasmin Rashid said that availability of accurate data was imperative to control the corona epidemic. She directed that online data entry be ensured at all the newly-established vaccination centres. She said that round-the-clock work was being done in three shifts at the Expo vaccination centre and the number of staff would be increased in the shift facing a rush of people, she added. Dr Yasmin Rashid discusses coordination with US doctors of Pak descent

LAHORE:Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid met with a delegation of the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) at Fatima Jinnah Medical University here on Tuesday.
The delegation was represented by Dr Mohsin and Dr Kalim Ahmed. The minister discussed with the delegation the measures to enhance coordination among the doctors working in the ICUs in Pakistan, the UK and the US.
Dr Kalim and Dr Mohsin appreciated the health minister on taking the measures in Punjab. The health minister said, “We are trying to provide healthcare services of international quality in Pakistan. She said by December 2021, all 29.3 million families of Punjab would be given universal health coverage. Through APPNA, mutual coordination among the doctors of the UK, the US and the doctors of Mayo Hospital, LGH and Children Hospital is a positive development, she said.

LAHORE:Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid took oath from the students of first-year of MBBS class at the Fatima Jinnah Medical University here on Monday.
The minister said, “The students of Fatima Jinnah Medical University are taking oath to serve humanity. This is a prophetic profession. Almighty Allah has chosen you to serve humanity. You are your parents deserve congratulations for this honour. The service of doctors is compared to that of a prophet. A doctor must be inspired by great ideals to serve humanity. Saving one life is like saving humanity. A doctor’s services cannot be equated with any monetary gains. People are remembered for their services to humanity and not for their riches. Abdus Sattar Edhi made his name only by service to humanity.”
