The Central American Team Qualification starts on Monday 10th May, the Pan American Junior Games Singles Qualification on Wednesday 12th May, before the six-day Central American Championships, staged from Friday 14th to Wednesday 19th May concludes the programme.
MONTREAL After a difficult year, Canadian gymnasts were dealt another blow this week by the decision that they will not take part in next month s Pan-American Championships in Rio de Janeiro. Gymnastics Canada made the announcement on Friday, citing safety concerns raised by the ongoing pandemic. “We consulted with a lot of medical experts to try as much as we could but, at the end of the day, Brazil is just not in a great place right now and it s just not safe to send anybody there,” said Amanda Tambakopoulos, program manager for women s artistic gymnastics. The decision comes as a blue for many athletes for whom Rio would have been their final chance to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.

Canada will skip a last-chance gymnastics qualifier for the Tokyo Olympics next month in Rio over Covid-19 safety concerns, officials announced Friday.
Gymnastics Canada will not send a team to the 2021 Senior Pan American Championships in Brazil on June 4-13, passing up a chance to qualify one more gymnast in men’s and women’s artistic events and an individual and group in rhythmic competition. Brazil is in the grip of an escalating Covid-19 crisis, with more than 416,000 deaths from the virus, the highest death toll in the world after the United States.

Gymnastics Canada said on Friday they have decided not to enter teams in the Pan American Championships being held in Brazil due to health and safety concerns resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The June 4-13 event in Rio de Janeiro was Canada s last chance qualifier event for the Tokyo Olympics in men s artistic, women s artistic, and rhythmic gymnastics. We realize the impact these decisions have on our athletes, especially those senior athletes that have dedicated so many years to their ambition of competing at the Olympic Games, Gymnastics Canada Chief Executive Ian Moss said in a statement.

Gymnastics Canada will not send a team to a last-chance Tokyo Olympic qualifier because of COVID-19 concerns.
The organization announced Friday it will not send athletes to the 2021 Senior Pan American Championships in Rio de Janeiro from June 4-13.
The event was Canada’s last chance to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics in men’s artistic, women’s artistic and rhythmic gymnastics.
