Kyle Aben is the city’s Carbon Review Coordinator. “Currently funding is available through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities for up to 50 percent of the feasibility cost.   Our partner, West Fraser, is applying through IFIT (Investments in Forestry Industry Transformation program) for their portion. And then the city would be required to put up 10 percent or approximately 40 thousand dollars.”

The cast of Jack back in 2017 A village drama club is offering fans a trip back in time - while supporting the mental health charity Mind. Fans of Iver Heath Drama Club who missed their annual panto when it was cancelled because of Covid can now enjoy again their 2017 show Jack and the Beanstalk, when it is live streamed next month. Money raised will go to Mind. Matt Streuli is the club s dame and chairman. He also works in the NHS and is a media volunteer for Mind having publicly spoken about his own experiences of mental health issues. He said: Covid has made life very difficult whether it is trapping people indoors, losing loved ones or increasing anxieties about finances or health. Our show is a perfect escape from the dirge of the world while supporting Mind who provide vital resources and guidance online and in the community.

Mayor Bob Simpson says these derelict properties on English Avenue are a continuation of Council’s Safer Community initiative. “We want to get at some of the root issues of some of the problems that we have in the community, that call into question some of the safety issues in our community, and that is problem properties, nuisance properties, derelict properties, properties that people can squat on, and properties that easily can become drug houses or the site of other criminal activities.”
