Когато църковният празник е в събота празникът на града се отбелязва същия ден. До 2016 г. с Решение 9 на Общинския съвет от 28 януари 1993 г. Празникът на Пирдоп се е отбелязвал през първата събота на м. август, когато по традиция се провежда народен събор край Еленската базилика в местността Еленско.
