We ve seen the stories of dogs and cats being kept in homes not meant for them. Dozens of animals kept under the same roof, in poor conditions, some barely clinging to life. As often as that happens here in Texas, there are times where even bigger animals are discovered in similar conditions. Then there are the people that step in to help.
Popcorn Park Animal Refuge in New Jersey did just that for a tiger by the name of Caesar. The regal cat was rescued from Noah s Land in Bastrop, Texas in 2002. According to Texas Monthly, Noah s Land was understaffed and underfinanced, leaving the crew there completely overwhelmed.

Beloved tiger rescued from neglect dies at N.J. animal refuge
Updated 10:13 PM;
Caesar, a beloved tiger rescued from Texas, died at Popcorn Park Animal Refuge after nearly two decades with the Ocean County animal sanctuary, the organization announced Thursday.
Transported to Popcorn Park from a zoo that was closing in June 2002, Caesar was found neglected and needed medical care, according to the group. His condition soon improved under care at the Lacey Township refuge, which is run by Associated Humane Societies.
“Caesar [quickly] became everyone’s best friend,” a social media post from Popcorn Park said. “He loved to rub up along his fence and talk with his caretakers. Chuffing, moaning, and groaning, any sound that he could make in order to talk with us. He was 2 when he arrived, and he never seemed to get any older. He just acted like a 2-year-old ‘cub’ all his life.”
