Laboratory testing numbers show 2,031 tests were completed yesterday, bringing the total number of lab tests completed since early February 2020 to 601,994.
Outbreaks have been declared at Donwood Manor in Winnipeg and Boyne Lodge Personal Care Home in Carman. The facilities have been moved to the Critical (red) level on the #RestartMB Pandemic Response System.
The outbreak is declared over at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sarto.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 5.7 per cent provincially and 5.2 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on April 10, 2021, 135 new cases of the virus have been identified. This brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 35,104.
Public health officials advise that one additional death in a person with COVID-19 is being reported today:
a female in her 80s from the Winnipeg health region;

WINNIPEG The province announced one death and 135 new COVID-19 infections on Saturday. The death is a female in her 80s from the Winnipeg health region, bringing the provincial death toll to 949, as one case was removed due to a data correction. The majority of the new cases are in the Winnipeg health region with 71. The Northern health region had 33, Southern Health-Santé Sud had 18, Prairie Mountain had nine and another four were reported in the Interlake-Eastern health region. The province currently has 1,259 active cases of the virus, bringing the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 35,104. The current provincial five-day test positivity rate sits at 5.7 per cent, with Winnipeg at 5.2 per cent.

Thirty-six additional variants of concern have been detected in Manitoba as the province another grim milestone, public health officials announced Saturday. The new cases are 32 of the B.1.1.7 UK variant and four which have not been categorized.
That brings the number of variant cases to 412, including 364 of the UK variant, 20 of the South Africa variant and 28 cases that had not been categorized. It marked the first time that the number of variant cases had exceeded 400.
