The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is all set to begin the trial run of Mumbai s second metro line, which will connect the two western suburbs Andheri and Dahisar from May 26. The planning authority has set a target to start the commercial operations on the first 20 km of this route by October and the remaining 17 km by December end. On May 18, Mumbai recorded 953 new covid cases, lowest since March. The work on the line resumed in October 2020 post lockdown. Hailing from a agriculture family of Kolar, he has raised a beautiful garden on the terrace of his house where he has grown a variety of plants. Last year’s lockdown kept citizens indoors for many weeks. Many became restless by staying inside homes with absolutely no work to do. It hit the regular income of many. But the lockdown came as a boon for Venkatareddy who created a terrace garden to nurture his passion of gardening. He grows vegetables, flowers and greens which are sufficient for his family. The entire terrace is reserved for plants such as  ladies finger, beans, double beans, tomato, chilli, cucumber,  sunflower and a variety of greens.

Express News Service NEW DELHI: The government is planning to decrease its shareholding in three Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) in the future but timeline for execution of this step is not decided yet. Shripad Naik, Minister of State (MoS) for Defence on Monday informed, “The Government is planning to decrease shareholding in Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) namely, Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML Ltd)., Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) and Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI).” As for timeline, Naik said, “The completion of a transaction depends on market conditions.  Therefore, it is not possible to predict a timeline.”
