Ackles was the first student to use the vending machine, which allows students to earn a book of their own for good behavior. LIMA Tucked inside the corner of the Heritage Elementary School lunchroom is a vending machine filled with books. There are comic books and chapter books. Books about hurricanes and sharks and robots and ballerinas. Books with inspiring stories and books about athletes or dinosaurs. Students who exhibit good behavior can earn a ticket that buys them a book from the cafeteria vending machine. But unlike the books students borrow from the library, these books don’t need to be returned.

(WAFF) - Madison police confirm a school bus was involved in a wreck on County Line Road near Browns Ferry Road Tuesday afternoon. One student from Heritage Elementary School was on the bus with the driver and an aid, according to an official with Madison City Schools. The wreck happened just after 2 p.m. Tuesday, the cause of the wreck has not been released.
