The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 5.2 per cent provincially and 4.1 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on February 10, 2021, 59 new cases of the virus have been identified. However, two cases have been removed due to a data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 57 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 30,417.
Public health officials advise six additional deaths in people with COVID-19 have been reported today including:
a male in his 70s from the Northern health region, linked to outbreaks at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home and St. Anthony’s General Hospital, dialysis unit;

After two consecutive days of double-digit new cases in the province, Manitoba public health officials announced a return to triple-digit new infections with 126 new cases on Wednesday.
A good chunk of those come in Northern Health with 55 new cases, followed by 32 additional cases in Winnipeg and 24 in Interlake-Eastern. Southern Health and Prairie Mountain each recorded single-digit days with eight and seven new infections, respectively.

Manitoba’s test positivity rate plummeted further on Wednesday, down to 6.9%, a 0.7% decrease compared to Tuesday. It’s the lowest the provincial test positivity rate has been since Oct. 25. The province has seen 29,858 total cases since last March as it creeps toward 30,000.
