IOC ‘committed’ to staging Tokyo Olympics despite reports it will be cancelled

The International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee have dismissed renewed speculation that the delayed Tokyo 2020 Games are set to be cancelled.
A report in the Times claimed the Japanese government has “privately concluded” that the Olympics and Paralympics will have to be called off due to rising coronavirus rates.
The IOC issued a statement in which it referenced the response of the Japanese government in describing the report as “categorically untrue”, adding: “The IOC is fully concentrated on and committed to the successful delivery of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 this year.”

With Covid-19 forcing the postponement of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 until later this summer, Nathan Benderson Park and Princeton National Rowing Association have been selected to host the three re-scheduled 2020 U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Team Trials – Rowing, with the first event slated to start one month from today. USRowing has been fortunate to have great partners in Nathan Benderson Park and PNRA that have been working with us to hold and support our Olympic and Paralympic Trials in 2021, said Matt Imes, USRowing High Performance Director.
