Congress spokesperson Ajay Maken referred to a report by the Parliamentary Panel and said the emergency situation of hospitals running short on oxygen supplies could have been avoided had the government taken note of early warnings. The Parliamentary Panel on Health, in its report tabled in February, had asked the Centre to ensure adequate supply of oxygen to hospitals as per demand.
