Sri Lanka s Supreme Court says Port City bill can be passed with simple majority if amended 2021-05-18 09:35:59 GMT2021-05-18 17:35:59(Beijing Time) Xinhua English COLOMBO, May 18 (Xinhua) Sri Lanka s Parliament Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena on Tuesday announced the Supreme Court s verdict on the Port City Economic Commission Bill to the Parliament. According to the Supreme Court, the bill requires amendments to bring it further in line with the Sri Lankan constitution. The unamended version of the bill can be passed with a special majority, but with amendments to key clauses a simple majority would suffice, the verdict said.

Speaker yet to receive SC determination on Port City Bill
