New Delhi [India], February 13 (ANI): The Lok Sabha was adjourned after the first phase of Budget session concluded on Saturday and the House will reconvene at 4 pm on March 8 after recess.
Ahead of the conclusion of the first phase, Lok Sabha passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
Regarding the COVID-19 norms for the second the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said, Before the session begins, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will sit together for discussions. Discussions are held with Parliamentary Affairs Ministry too. After that, we will make the decision. It will be in accordance with the situation at that time.
Former Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency Enoch Teye Mensah has won the slot to be the representative of the Greater Accra Region on the Council of State.
A long-time Youth and Sports Minister in the 90s, ET Mensah polled 58 out of 58 votes to win the elections on Friday, February 12.
He beat two other contenders to win the elections, held across the country in accordance with Paragraph (C) of Clause 2 of Article 89 of the 1992 Constitution.
Before the elections, Nii Kotei Dzani, who had represented the Region in the last Council, withdrew from the race.

A decision by Bangladesh s High Court on Sunday to bar women officials from registering Islamic marriages has caused uproar in the South Asian country.
The court ruled that a Muslim wedding is a sacred ceremony and women are not allowed to register it because of their monthly menstruation cycles. The judges ruled that women can t enter mosques while having their periods and therefore are not fit for the profession of registering marriages.
