The resolution said the ant-farmer laws would create a situation where the government would be forced to stop purchase of farm produce, leading to collapse of the public distribution system and uptick in hoarding and black marketing.
Speaking in the Assembly, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said the BJP pushed the farm laws in the Parliament using brute force and urged the Centre to repeal the legislations. BJP always maligns every agitation as terrorist activity. The laws are totally anti farmer. They pushed it (in Parliament) using brute force. We will not accept farmers being branded as traitors, she said amid protest by BJP MLAs.

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], January 28 (ANI): As the resolution against the Centre s farm laws has been passed in the West Bengal Assembly on Thursday, state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Dilip Ghosh slammed the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government terming it dangerous for democracy.
Speaking to ANI, Ghosh said, It is very condemnable. The Governor has not been invited. TMC does not believe in democracy. Such a party is dangerous for our democracy.
Earlier today, the West Bengal Assembly passed a resolution against the three agricultural laws enacted by the Central Government.
