New Delhi [India], December 15 (ANI): Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday targeted the Congress over the ruckus in Karnataka Legislative Council, saying that the party does not believe in democracy and majority of people wanted the deputy chairman to chair the meeting of the council but he was forcefully thrown out by Congress MLCs .
He said a no-confidence motion had been brought against the chairman of the council. It was visible that he (Deputy Chairman) was forcefully dethroned. Congress doesn t believe in democracy. NEW DELHI: The government has said the winter session of Parliament will not be held this year in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and that it will be appropriate to convene the budget session in January next year.
In a letter to leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said, Winter months are very crucial for managing the pandemic because of recent spurt in cases during this period, particularly in Delhi. At present, we are in the middle of December and a Covid vaccine is expected very soon.
The minister said he had informally contacted floor leaders of various political parties and they have expressed their concerns about the ongoing pandemic and opined of doing away with winter session .

In a shocking move, the Centre has cancelled the winter sessions of Parliament citing Covid-19. This is confirmed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi in response to Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary’s letter demanding to hold sessions to discuss controversial new farm laws.
Well, when the Covid-19 was in its peak in September, the Centre still managed to host the Parliament sessions and passed 27 bills including the controversial farm bill. But now the Centre is refusing to hold the session and this is in view to the growing agitation against the farm bills.
