PTA Blocked Around 1m URLs of ‘Objectionable Material,’ Lower House Informed

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blocked around one million URLs of “objectionable content” related to religious and the integrity and defense of the country, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan informed the National Assembly on Friday.
During Question Hour, he said that the regulatory body was taking “effective measures” to remove or block from access any content that was against Pakistan’s laws. He said that there would be zero tolerance for any user or website that promoted pornography, blackmailing of women, and personal attacks. He also urged the public to report any pornographic and anti-Pakistan content to the PTA so action could be promptly taken.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Ministry of Law and Justice Friday submitted a written reply in the Senate in which the Upper House was told that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) recovered over Rs 480 billion in the past ten years.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani chaired the session. The law ministry told that the anti-corruption watchdog recovered the amount as plea bargain and in cases of bank default from 2011 to October 2020.
The anti-graft body directly recovered over Rs 46.38 billion and more than Rs 395 billion from other sources. Over Rs 248 billion were collected in 2020 – the most in the decade. NAB Lahore collected the maximum amount (over Rs 10.89 billion).

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A rumpus on Friday has erupted in the session of National Assembly (NA) after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member of the assembly (MNA) Afzal Khokhar tabled a privilege motion.
During the session, while taking about the operation to demolish the Khokhar Palace, the PML-N leader told the House that Lahore administration had stormed his residence late night and destroyed furniture and other things.
This type of attitude of the Punjab authorities will not be tolerated, he clarified.
Rs 480.680 billion recovered by NAB in last 10 years, Senate told

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Law and Justice Dr. Muhammad Farogh Naseem told the Senate on Friday that a total amount of Rs 480.680 billion has been recovered by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) during the last 10 years.
In a written reply to a question by Senator Zeeshan Khanzada, the law minister shared the year and province-wise recoveries through voluntary return/plea bargain, other direct recoveries (on accounts of Bank default, rescheduling of loans, PCBL and Court Fines), and indirect recoveries made by the NAB from January 2011 to October 2020 with the Upper House of the Parliament.
