New highway projects in Karnataka to be built at a cost of Rs 21,000 crore, and will cover 847 km.
In yet another boost to the infrastructure of the long ignored region of North Karnataka, the central government on Friday (15 January) announced the construction of 13 highway projects in the region.
To be built at a cost of Rs 21,000 crore, these projects will cover a total of 847 kilometres. Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and MSME Nitin Gadkari announced the projects after laying the foundation stone for the construction of an elevated corridor at Rani Chennamma Circle, Hubballi and construction of a bridge over Bedthi channel at Dastikoppa village, Kalghataki Taluk.

Bagalkot, Jan 17 (IANS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday asserted that the three farm laws enacted by the Centre recently would enable farmers to increase their income manifold, as they will be able to sell their produce anywhere in the country to anyone for the highest price. The farm laws will help farmers to increase their income manifold, as they can sell their crop to whoever offers the highest price to them, said Shah in Hindi at Bagalkot in Karnataka s northwest region, about 475km from Bengaluru.
