Two French police officers were wounded in a shootout with a suspect after a knifeman repeatedly stabbed a female officer inside a police station in France.
The attacker fled the police station after grabbing the officer’s gun in the horrifying incident in La Chappelle-sur-Erdre, close to the western city of Nantes, soon after 10am.
Surgeons were still fighting to save the officer’s life on Friday afternoon after she was rushed to hospital, according to reports.
Firearms officers searched for the gunman after eyewitnesses said he fled in a car but crashed, before then escaping on foot.

A POLICE woman is fighting for her life after being stabbed in a suspected terror attack that saw the knifeman shot dead.
Two others were also wounded during the terrifying attack that began this morning just after 10am inside a police station in La Chappelle-sur-Erdre, in Nantes, France.
