The Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) on Saturday claimed to have cleared all the makeshift collection points throughout the city of sacrificial animal entrails. They said that the collection points have been cleaned, sprinkled with limestone and sprayed with antiseptic.
A statement issued by the SSWMB said that they lifted 81,345 tonnes of offal during Eidul Azha and transported it to the landfill sites where the board had dug trenches for burying the waste.
The largest amount of animal entrails was lifted from District West, followed by the Central and South districts. Sindh government spokesman Barrister Murtaza Wahab and SSWMB Managing Director Zubair Channa had visited different collection points of the board on Friday.
PPP wants to hold local government polls in Sindh, says Ghani

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) desires that the local government elections are held earliest in Sindh but the delimitation exercise required before the polls is being delayed due to the controversial census results.
Sindh Education and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani said this on Saturday while addressing a press conference. He blamed the federal government and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), which he said claimed to have the mandate of Karachi, for the delay in the delimitation exercise.
He said the federal government with the support of the MQM-P got the controversial census results approved from Parliament and the Council of Common Interests.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said the objections raised by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Governor Imran Ismail against the probable appointment of Barrister Murtaza Wahab as new administrator of Karachi don’t carry any value.
He made this remark while talking to media persons on Wednesday, the first day of Eidul Azha. Responding to a query, he said the objections made no difference at all as they (the PTI and the governor) didn’t have any role in this affair. He said the law prescribed that it was the discretion of the Sindh government to appoint the city’s administrator.
