PPP wants to hold local government polls in Sindh, says Ghani

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) desires that the local government elections are held earliest in Sindh but the delimitation exercise required before the polls is being delayed due to the controversial census results.
Sindh Education and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani said this on Saturday while addressing a press conference. He blamed the federal government and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), which he said claimed to have the mandate of Karachi, for the delay in the delimitation exercise.
He said the federal government with the support of the MQM-P got the controversial census results approved from Parliament and the Council of Common Interests.
Wahab inspects rain measures in Gizri, Punjab Chowrangi

Barrister Murtaza Wahab, the adviser to the Sindh chief minister on law, environment and climate change, who is likely to be appointed as the administrator of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC),
on Saturday visited the KPT Underpass, Punjab Chowrangi, and Gizri water pumping stations to monitor their functioning.
According to a statement issued, Barrister Wahab directed the KMC, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) and other relevant officials to ensure smooth flow of drains given the rain forecast.
He issued orders to the officers not to let the citizens be bothered during the rains.
‘Wahab possesses superb capability to work as Karachi administrator’

The electronic news media was abuzz with reports on Thursday that the Sindh government was going to appoint the provincial law and environment adviser, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, as the new administrator of Karachi.
The reports aired on TV news media said the notification to appoint Barrister Wahab, who also acts as the spokesperson for the Sindh government, would be issued once the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah concludes his current visit to the United States.
Responding to such reports, Sindh Information and Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah wrote on Twitter that Barrister Wahab possessed superb capability to work as the administrator of Karachi.
Barrister Wahab inaugurates RO plant in Keamari

Barrister Murtaza Wahab, the adviser to the Sindh chief minister on law and environment, on Saturday inaugurated a reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration plant in the newly established Keamari district of the city.
The RO plant having the capacity to treat 2,000 gallons of subsoil water daily has been installed at the Government Boys’ School Younusabad where over 1,100 students are enrolled.
The Sindh government collaborated with the Pakistan Navy and an international non-governmental organisation, Muslim Hands, to install the RO plant.
Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Wahab said the Pakistan Peoples Party had been fully acting upon its manifesto to serve the general public.
