Queensland Beef Corridor mayors say the Federal Governmentâs budget, to be handed down on Tuesday, will not derail their push for âcriticalâ beef supply chain funding.
âItâs promising to have funding for the inland freight route, but it needs to link up with the local freight network used by businesses that contribute $1.7 billion a year,â Central Highlands Mayor Kerry Hayes said.
âWe are a mature and sustainable food production system that is creating more value-adding and additional jobs in the new economic environment.

But if you’re turning to Google Maps to explore some parts of outback Queensland in Australia, you might come across a series of inaccuracies that local mayors are already fed up with.
As it turns out, the errors on Google Maps go as far as claiming that the town of Eromanga is some 85 kilometers from its actual location, so drivers who may use the navigation to drive to this city could end up in a completely different place.
Furthermore, according to local reports, the local Street View imagery is more than a decade old, and officials say this affects them more than you could imagine because they rely a lot on tourism.

If you re driving in parts of outback Queensland, it is probably best not to listen to the authoritative voice on Google Maps, warn the mayors of several regional towns.

Outback Queensland landholders have been left stunned after their land values skyrocketed by more than 150 per cent.
On Wednesday, Queensland s Valuer-General released new land values, effective from June 30, for 25 shires across the state.
